Here is what I discovered yesterday. American Holiday + No RL people home = Bored Steph. Dear god, I was so bored. It was awful. I just needed to get out of the house, but no one was home. Where did they all go without inviting me? Jerks. So then I thought I'd kill hours online, but I had trouble doing that because there was no one to chat with, and no updated blogs or lj's. It was very sad. So I sat around watching crap reruns that I'd seen before, because I didn't want to start a movie in case one of my friends desided to call me back. Which of course didn't happen.
Here are some random thoughts from a night of complete bordom:
- Buffy Bot may have been super annoying, but she was still better than Ripped From the Grave Buffy. Or Whiney I'm Sad Buffy.
- I'd forgotten how much I liked Spike's hair when it was kinda messy.
- I-Tunes has a bad habit of always going to the same (bad) songs when you put it on random.
- I hadn't been to FF.net in forever, and I'd forgotten how many people out there write really, really baaaaaad stories.
- Cold Case is crap. Awful show, I couldn't even watch the whole thing. And did I mention that I was bored? That doesn't say much for this show.
- I still don't understand why anyone likes Ross on Friends.
- It is too early for holiday music specials.
Went Christmas shopping yesterday. Here's what I bought. The Travis Re-Offender single (for me), a ball of wool to make a scarf (for me), an answering machine (for me and roomie), some makeup at MAC (for me), and 2 purses (both for me). I'm glad to see that the spirit of giving is alive and well.

It's Kiefer day! Tuesday's are the highlight of my week. Sad but true.
I've been emailing back and forth with a guy from EMI records this morning, and he just said that he'd send me some new cd's. You know, for the radio show I do on the college station. YAY! Free cd's? Doing that radio show was clearly one of the best idea's I've ever had. I just wish that they'd put the station online so that I could force all of you to listen to it. Plus, the music kicks ass.
Anyone who loves the Strong Bad emails at Homestar Runner needs to go here. It's a page that shows all the hidden stuff in each email. Way too much fun.

Ugh... Work Christmas party was last night. There was a lot of alcohol consumed. I didn't think that I'd had that much to drink, but my head is disagreeing with that thought this morning. Or afternoon. Whatever. But it was still tons of fun. I love getting all dressed up and going out with everyone.
We had some people over here before we went to the party. That was great too. Yesterday afternoon I ran to the grocery store to pick up some food to serve people. I was in full out grunge mode. No makeup, dirty hair, glasses and ratty clothes. I looked awful. As I was getting ready, I realized that I had forgotten to get a bag of ice. Considering we only had about 14 ice cubes in the house, that was bad. So I headed back to the grocery store in my nice black pants, gorgeous strappy sandals, long black coat, hair all done up and perfect makeup. It's hilarious to be completely overdressed in a grocery store. I got a lot of admiring looks. Very good for the self esteem. Which I'll need because the hangover is making me feel like ass.
Went and saw Love Actually this week. I was going to blog about it earlier but I never got around to it. But I loved the movie. It's wonderful. I think I might have to see it again.

"You could make grown men gasp when you'd go walking past..."
SM has put up a cap of The Kief and Chase getting it on because she's wondeful. Yay SM!
She also posted the sad news that Jonathan Brandis killed himself. The 12 year old girl in me is sobbing over this fact, remembering such awful movies like Ladybugs and Sidekicks (still getting the nod for Worst Movie Ever from me) and of course, Seaquest DSV. I used to love that show. Hell, I might even still have an episode or two kicking around on tape. Sad, sad news.
Oh, and don't even get me started on the ickiness that is Michael Jackson. I'm only surprised that it's taken this long for him to be arrested. And hey, just in time for his new album to be released. How's that for PR?
In other completely random news, I'm making a cake for Roomie's birthday. Just so you all know, making a cake without a mixer sucks.
Listening to: The Clash - Train in Vain
"I can't be happy without you 'round..."
Come on, you know that Pooh and I aren't the only ones thinking it. First there was the angry phone sex, and then the "I lurve you" apology, and the biggest piece of evidence - Kief caressed his face! It was the hottest thing ever. EVER. I have never been so happy for my VCR ever. Um, did everyone catch the quick shot of Chase pumping the shotgun? Cause that was pretty damn smoking hot too. In fact, Chase was sexing up this ep a lot. The Salazar beating was pretty hot. Does it say something about me that I'm turned on by that?
The rest of the episode didn't have enough Kief. That was sad. The president plotline bores me. I'm sorry it does. Can we get to the freaking debate already? That might help. I loved Chloe today, I found it hilarious with her going on and on about Tony being shot in the neck. I didn't even want to kill Adam. How impressive. And Michelle! Poor Michelle. She's awesome, and I love her so much for not becoming a weepy, crying mess *coughlikemecough*. And can I just say YAY TONY! Because clearly he'll be out of surgery and hanging out at CTU in like 6 hours. YAY!

Um, Elfy, you might not want to read this... Just think of Moody this weekend.
Q: How freaking amazing were Duran Duran tonight?
A: Pretty freaking amazing!
Dude, that was one of the best concerts ever just based on the fun factor. I mean, it was Duran Duran! The band that I've loved since I was three. Three! The band walked on stage, and I realized that I never really got over my Simon crush. He's so cute! Still! In his black shirt and white coat. Adorable! The audience was crazy. We all cheered for about five minutes before they even started playing. Everyone was singing along and dancing. And they played just about everything I wanted to hear. (Union of the Snake and the Chauffeur would have been nice, but now I'm just getting picky.) They had an awesome rocked out version of Wild Boys that kicked so much ass. Come Undone was just beautiful, and Hungry Like the Wolf was just as good as I thought it would be. They ended the night with Rio, which was so much fun. I had a great, great time.

I just realized that the blog beautification has been pretty low on my part. Other than my loverly graphic, which I can't see. Damn Mac. And then I was looking at all the fun clips of Kiefer at Kiefer Rocks, the best website in the world, when I came across this and had to share:
That's what I'm talking about. I think I had something real to say, but I've forgotten it in the beauty that is Kief.
Listening to: Without a Trace. I just missed the beginning, damn. I'm guessing someone is missing...
Hey, can everyone please add me to AIM? I think I've finally got it figured out. My name is stephdub21. Cause I really need someone to say Fuck with after watching 24. Cause Fuck Fuck Fuck Fuck!

"We're tired of being held in this place..."
First, and most importantly, I am writing this while sitting in my apartment. Yep, after 5 hellish weeks I finally have a lovely DSL connection and I have never been happier in my entire life. I'm back baby! Expect more tags and more updates. I've missed you guys something fierce.
But I do have to say, roomie's Mac? Sucks. A lot. Except for itunes, which is awesome, but the rest of it is iffy. I miss my right click on the mouse. This one click only thing is not working for me. At all. And I miss my task bar. I want to see it at the bottom there so I know what I've got open and kicking around. I have a pathetic memory, and I lose all train of thought if I'm not constantly bombarded with things.
So here's where I tell you about my weekend in Ottawa and Montreal. Friday we were supposed to leave at about 1pm. However, because of a misunderstanding between my friend M who was driving and his mother, that turned into 4pm. Which meant that now we had to drive through Toronto in RUSH HOUR traffic. Cause that's fun. But then we ended up taking the toll highway which worked out pretty damn well actually. We got to Ottawa at about 10, and ended up heading to this awesome restaurant that served these freaking HUGE margaritas, so after two of those life was feeling pretty damn good.
Saturday we decided to head to Montreal to visit one of M's friends. Sadly I didn't get to see a lot of the city. In an attempt to save some money, we just hung out at her apartment all night. But the little bit of Montreal that I did see was beautiful. But I'll have to brush up on my french before I go. I always feel like such a moron trying to stumble through the little bit of french I know with the Tim Hortans worker, or whoever.
Sunday before we went back to Ottawa we stopped in the cutest store ever where you could flip through books of iron on transfers, and then they'd put them on whichever shirt you picked out. I got one with a cute little cartoon cat sitting in front of a tape player, and in a little thought bubble it says I love Cassettes, only it does it with pictures. It is too cute for words, and I am so super happy with it. I'm only sad that there isn't a store like that closer to me. So once we hit Ottawa I hooked up with a friend from college for dinner, and then M and I headed back. It was an awesome time, and I'd love to go back to both cities and spend some more time there. Especially Montreal.
I have to work in the morning, so I should really put my ass to bed now.
Listening to: Ladytron - I'm With the Pilots
"When you're down there don't feel down and out, you've have something you can smile about."
I put my contacts in today, and the left one instantly started to bother me. So I rubbed at it a bit, and dropped some solution in my eye, and it felt a bit better. I then headed over to my parents place to do some laundry. Yeah, like I'm going to pay to do laundry in my building. I don't think so. So while I'm at my parents my eye starts to really bother me. It's stinging, and watery, and really bloodshot. Naturally, this just makes me rub at it more. In fact, I rub my eye until my contact falls out. Except, only half of it falls out. Somehow my contact managed to rip in half while in my eye. And now I can't find the other half. Is it in my eye? Did it fall out already? I freak out a bit, and then start to think about what the hell I'm going to do. I now have one contact in, so I can see perfectly out of one eye, but am blind as a bat out of the other one. I can't drive like that. No one is home, and my parents are in Mexico, so I can't even phone and harass one of them. Thankfully Roomie was at the apartment and she came and delivered my glasses to me. I drove straight to the optometrist, and thankfully I didn't scratch my cornea or anything awful like that. But my eye is irritated, so I have to wear my glasses for the next few days. Just in time for Ottawa. Booo.
I hate my glasses. I don't like the way they look on me at all. Plus, they give me headaches. I don't like how when you wear glasses everything you look at is in focus, but your peripheral view is blurry. It makes me queasy.
On to the good news, I'm heading to Ottawa to see my friend J tomorrow. I've missed her a lot, so I'm really looking forward to seeing her again. Even if I have to see her through glasses. We might head to Montreal on Saturday night, which would be awesome. I've never been to Montreal before, and everyone loves it. I will be back on Monday, which is the happy happy day that we (should) get the internet at the apartment! YAY!
Listening to: Hawksley Workman (This album is so freaking good) - Smoke Baby

New Layout! From the wonderful and talented SullyMel. It was originally supposed to go up in honour of the premiere of Day 3, but I, uh, forgot about it. Yeah, I suck. But here it is in honour of 3.02, so yay! Thanks again babe.
THE KIEF IS ON TONIGHT! Yeah, yeah, old news to some of you, who like to leave links on your blog to what I'm sure are hot, hot, hot pics. Evil, evil girl. Evil. But leave the link, I'll look at it tomorrow.
The countdown is on baby. Internet at the apartment as of next Monday, the 10th. 6 days baby, 6 days! And to get the internet? It only took 1 hour, and 8 phone calls to 8 different divisions of Bell.
Dear Bell,
I hate you with the fire of a thousand suns. You make me shake my fists with rage. If anything goes wrong with my freaking high speed service on Monday I can not be held accountable for my actions.
Fuck you,
Steph
PS - Please continue to send me pay cheques. Thanks!
Um, yeah...
One was talking about No Doubt's It's My Life at her blog. I'll be the first to admit that I'm not the biggest No Doubt fan, but I love this song. It's most likely because I love, love, love Talk Talk's version. But the video also kicks so much ass. It's great. Does anyone else think that Gwen is looking a lot like the Vouge era Madonna?
Have to get back to work...
Listening to: (well, not really since I'm working but it's in my head so:) No Doubt - It's My Life
"It's my life, don't you forget..."
Some of you have seen the new 24. By now most of you have seen tonight's Alias. I am in some severe tv/downloading withdrawal. I swear to god, we need the internet THIS WEEK. I've freaking had it. I'm shakier than the Kief in 3.01. I miss all of you guys, I miss my message boards, I miss downloading music, I miss it all. Also, my parents computer died. Just dropped dead. Sadly, it did this before I had a chance to burn off all of my mp3 files. I got most of them, but I hadn't transferred my biggest file, the one of all my Depeche Mode remixes. Also all my pretty, pretty pictures are gone. So many Kief pics never to be seen again. *takes a moment of silence to deal with the loss*
I need to go home and watch Alias. And Nip/Tuck. I hate that Sunday's are a good tv night, and I'm always working. Except for next weekend. I've taken it off to go to Ottawa with my friend M to visit my friend J. We may go to Montreal for a bit too. I've never been there, so I hope that we go.
I spent my Halloween with Travis, one of my all time favourite bands. It was my 7th time seeing them, and yes I am that obsessed. So very good. I can't even say more. They always blow me away. If you ever get the chance to see Travis, you have to go.
I also cut my hair. This is a big deal to me. I never cut my hair. I have issues with having my hair short. But it's short. For me, at least. It used to go to my armpits, and now it sits right on my shoulders. It's only about 4 inches, but that's huge to me. But, if I do say so myself, it looks awesome! Really great. I'm so happy with it. This is why I should take more chances. It looks great. If I ever get a picture of it, I'll share it with the class.
Lastly, because I've been so awful at updating, I have a survey. Because it was about music, so clearly I had to do it. It's been stolen from all kinds of people, but I do believe that Elfslut had it first.
