I finally have a day off, and it couldn't come soon enough. I've worked for the past ten days straight, and it was evil. By the end of it I was in the worst mood ever. I've been completely anti-social this week. I just didn't want to deal with anyone. It wasn't like anything bad happened at work, I just didn't want to be there. So today is the most wonderful day ever. No work makes Steph a super happy girl.

And, guess what? Yes, I am sitting her on my brand new pretty computer. I love it to pieces. It is already my new best friend. We are very happy together. Now all I need is for my brother to get my speakers in at his work and I will be the happiest computer user ever. I even got the upgraded sound card so my music will sound lovely and wonderful.

Tomorrow I am going to Toronto's Pride Parade. I was supposed to be going to a concert, but then the concert got cancelled. Yes, I am being vague on purpose. Anyway, the girl I was supposed to go with suggested that we hit the parade, and then do some shopping. It sounded like a banner suggestion, so that is what we will be doing.

The election is on Monday and I still have no clue who I'm going to vote for. I pretty much hate all the politicians who are running. There just doesn't seem to be one clear answer about who to vote for. I probably won't decide until I get into the voting booth on Monday. Thankfully I don't have to work Monday night. Election nights are always crazy. I'll just wave at them all at 6:30 as I head out the door.

We've just started to get America's Next Top Model up here, and I love it. The second season that is, I've already seen the first season. It was great too. It is just so cheesy and awful, what is not to love? It seems like the Canadian networks have started to pick up a bunch of the American shows. We're getting Touching Evil on Sunday, and I think someone is going to start running One Tree Hill soon.

But all of that is just icing on the Amazing-Race-is-back cake. I can't wait for a new season of the Amazing Race! It is the best reality show out there. Way too much fun. I'll stop being a tv addict after I say that Nip/Tuck kicked my ass last week, and I freaking adore that show. Plus, I randomly stumbled across the last two episodes of the first season last night on tv, and I had almost forgotten how wonderful it was. I'm so glad it's back. I've missed my cute doctors.

Yesterday didn't end up being put computer together day. My dad hurt his shoulder and couldn't lift the monitor to bring it over. And I went to the Bell store to see about getting some internet software and they were completely useless. So it has all been pushed back a bit. It's driving me freaking crazy.

Let me ask you people who clearly know more about computers than I do. Do I even need the new software to connect to the internet? Or can I just plug the modem in, and go nuts? I've heard conflicting reports from people, and I don't really trust any of them.

Kristin - The sports girl at work just handed me another copy of the Beckham poster. It's yours when you come and visit. Also, I need to know what time you think you'll make it here on the Monday, so I can plan our Toronto trip. WHEEE! So much fun!

I'm at work right now, and doing nothing. It is awesome. They over scheduled people and now they don't have anything for me to do. So I'm hanging low in the hopes that no one will try and make me do something different. I won brownie points earlier today by volunteering to go and tape some vis for a news story, so now everyone thinks I'm wonderful and helpful. Bwah! I've fooled them all!

Here are some bands I'm currently listening to and loving:

Ambulance LTD - from bluesy rock to pop with a tiny bit of country thrown in every once and a while. It's awesome. Go to their website to download Primitive.

Supergrass - They've just put out a greatest hits album, so if you don't know much of their stuff that's a great way to start. Listen to Mary, Movin, Pumpin on the Stereo and Going Out. If you watched Clueless, they use their song Alright in it, and that song always makes me want to smile and dance.

    Morrissey - SO FREAKING GOOD.

The Veils - If you haven't heard Lavinia yet, you should be shooting yourself. Plus, the rest of the album is wonderful too.

Listening to: Co-workers being noisy. The Veils Lavinia in my head.

I bought a lovely desk for my computer today. Only $89 at Staples. And the cutest sales guy ever helped me. How come when I worked at Staples there weren't any hotties like that there? That is just no fair. But hey, I have a desk. My dad is going to help me put it together tomorrow. "Happy Father's Day! Now lift that big heavy box up here, and assemble it for me please." Yep, I'm a good daughter. I don't even have a present for him yet. Isn't that awful? I have to run out tomorrow and pick something up. I'm thinking a cd. But if they don't have the one he wants in stock I'm screwed because I have no backup plans for him.

I was at work tonight, and the sports guy gave me a full page picture of David Beckham from the sports section of the newspaper. I love when people are on the look out for me and my objects of lust. Especially when it's one of my male co-workers who is in his mid-forties. I could marry someone like that, except for the part where he's already married.

Here's my fun story from the other night. I was up late trying to finish the book I've been reading. It's My Sister's Keeper by Jodi Picoult. I had about ten pages left, and it's really sad. And since I'm crazy and overemotional at the best of times, throw in the fact that it was 2am and you'll probably understand when I tell you I was bawling my eyes out. I'm crying, sobbing really, my nose is running, I was all red and blotchy. I was not a pretty sight. Which, naturally, is why this is when our building's fire alarm decided to go off. So I have to put down my book, blow my nose, throw on some clothes, and trek downstairs to hang out in the lobby with all my neighbours, mostly grandma's in their housecoats, holding cats while saying things like "it must be two o'clock in the morning!" "It must be, at least!" "My goodness, two am..." While I try to hide my face so no one will see my red eyes and running nose. Yeah, it was fun. After about twenty minutes they told us it was a false alarm, and we all headed back to our apartments. Then I crawled into bed, finished the book, and cried some more. It was really fun getting up the next day for work, let me tell you.

Over at the LJ there is a list of anti-crush songs. Go and tell me some more.

Listening to: The Cure - Watching Me Fall (wheeee! Curiosa Festival, yay!)

SQUEEEEE! At work, so just a quick update where I tell you that Franz Ferdinand are the most fun band live ever. Well, the next concert anyway. But DUDE! They were awesome. Totally, insanely amazing. They had a sold out Toronto crowd all hopping and dancing around. Toronto crowds usually just stand there. Some people head bop. I usually dance, but in a restrained, no one else is dancing way. But not at this show baby. FF took the stage, started in on Cheated on You and everyone went nuts. They played a few more tunes, and then said "here's a song you can dance to" and played Take Me Out. And the whole place went absolutely fucking insane. It was wonderful! They played a longer version on Michael with this extended middle part where they introduced the whole band while the audience jumped and clapped along. Then they ended the first set with Darts of Pleasure, also with an extended middle part. So freaking good! Then on to the encore, with a new tune, and a rip roaring, kick ass version of This Fire while everyone freaked out some more. One of the best concerts I have been too in a long time. If they boys are coming by your area any time soon, get your ass down to the show. Just freaking amazing.

In computer news, IT'S HERE! Now I just need to get a monitor... and a desk... and some new software so I can connect to the internet... but soon dammit! It's killing me looking from the box on the floor to my roommate on her computer. I need to get this all up and running. But sadly it has to be a joint effort. I need to get my roomie to move her computer into her room, and have mine ready to go. So I need my dad to bring me the extra monitor he has. He's been procrastinating on me. The monitor is at his office, and I guess he wants to do it at some sneaky time so it won't look like "hey there, I'm giving my daughter this old monitor that belongs to the company." I mean, it's not like anyone is using it at all, it's just sitting on the floor of his office. But people will talk, so I'm waiting.

Ok, I should get my ass back to work! *hugs* to you all, I miss you guys!

I finally did it! I bought a computer! Sometime in the next seven to nine business days I will have my very own purdy computer. And I'll be able to download all the shows and songs that I want. I should also be able to get on here more often and chat with you guys because I miss you! Sadly until then I am being very good to Roomie's new operation system updated computer. No downloading songs (itunes is seriously hurting right now), no updating Audioscrobbler, I'm not even going to get an icon for AIM. Before roomie updated the computer I went through it and burned off all the stuff I wanted, and deleted anything else. Which is why Itunes is so very sad right now. There are a few songs I must have accidentaly skipped over, and a few that I left incase Roomie wanted them. But other wise this computer is a pretty Steph-free zone.

But YAY for a computer of my very own! I'm really excited about this. I ended up ordering it through Future Shop. My brother approved of it, and it was about the same price as Dell, but Future Shop doesn't charge for shipping. Unlike Dell who wanted $130!! to send me my computer. Isn't that insane?

GAH! Just realized I have to figure out who all wants to see the Cure and co and get tickets. Dammit!

Listening to: The Smiths - This Charming Man (I can't believe I haven't bought the new Morrissey album yet. I am awful)

WHEEEEEE! Mom just called to say that the pool is now open AND it's warm! Guess what I'll be doing in about an hours time! I love swimming. Especially when there aren't other people around. I can deal with my family and friends, but public pools squick me out, and rightly so. Lord only knows what kinds of things people are doing in there. *shudders* I also have a phobia of hot tubs. It's like taking a bath with three other people. Ewwww.

Moving on, I've spend the whole day lazing about in bed. Have I mentioned how much I love having a weekend off? Because, dude, I love having a weekend off. I watched some Without a Trace, What Not to Wear, and the Chris Isaak Show. Then I lay about some more. I did eventually get up and do the dishes, and cleaned my bathroom, so it's not like I'm being super lazy today.

I'm trying to decide what to do tonight. I made some tentative plans to go out dancing with a friend. But then I found out that another friend (from a different group of friends) is in town for the night. But you know, even as I'm typing this, I know what I'm going to do. I am going to go and dance my ass off. I haven't done that nearly enough, and it will be much more fun than watching the other group of friends smoke up and act really stoned, and listen to their theories on why I don't do drugs. Man, now I can't believe I was even debating option number two. Dancing here I come!

Head over to the LJ where I am about to post the details of my quasi blind date last night. Why do I continue to let my friends set me up?

I'm freezing! It is so cold at work today. It's all sunny and beautiful outside, and I'm stuck in a windowless room with the air conditioning cranked way too high. I'm wearing a tank top, tshirt, cardigan and my beautiful suede jacket, and I'm still cold. This is just insane.

I blame most of it on the fact that I'm tired. I think my body is using so much energy trying to stay awake that there isn't enough left to keep me warm. My shift started at 7 this morning, which is just evil. I am not a morning person. At all. Two hours later, and I still look all sleepy eyed. Maybe I should put on some more eyeliner or something. Or slap myself around.

Last night I finally saw The Girl with a Pearl Earring. It was beautiful, I loved it. Colin Firth is so sexy, even with a weird wig on. I also bought a previously viewed copy of Love Actually. SQUEEE! So much love for that movie. It's on my list of things to watch tonight.

I was just surfing around Dell's website looking at computers, and by the time I picked out all the little things I wanted the cost had soared to just under $2000. TWO GRAND! For a DESKTOP!!! That is just insanity. I will have to make my brother help me out with this. Has anyone heard anything bad about Dell? Or had any problems with them? I've heard so many computer horror stories it is hard to keep them straight.

Back to work I go... only six and a half more hours to go. Sigh.
Listening to: Ugh. Regis and Kelly, only it's Tony Danza not Regis. I'll try to contain my excitement.
