I am slowly trying to come down from a crazy concert high. My God I'd forgotten how much I love Dave Gahan. Truly adore the man. He's a genius! The concert was bliss. Pure bliss. Here's how the day went... Got off work a half hour early! Wheeee. So came home, and had a quick nap to prepare myself for the possibility of being on the road all night dealing with crazy SARSstock traffic. Picked up J, and hit the highway. Stopped for gas, and again for food. Made it to the venue just in time to see the opening act, Kenna, who was really good. Kinda electronic rock. I really liked it. Then the waiting really began. The roadies finally finish with the stage, and the crowd starts going nuts. And then the man himself hits the stage, wearing tight black pants and a black buttoned vest. The vest only stayed buttoned until the second song. By the third song he just took it off. I'd almost forgotten how damned HOT Dave Gahan is. He's over that whole drug addict look that he had going, and now just looks fit. And muscled. And so good you just want to lick the sweat off his abs. Or maybe that's just me. Anyway, he played three songs off his solo album Paper Monsters, and then out came the opening riff of A Question of Time. The crowd goes insane. Just completely freaks out. I love that about Depeche Mode shows. The crowd is always super into them. AQoT was so good it brought tears to my eyes. Yep, I'm just that lame. He brought up the fact that he was playing the same night as the huge Stones concert a few times. He held up a sign from the crowd that said "Screw the Stones, We Crave Dave!" He also worked the little "doo doo doo doo doo" part of the Stones' Miss You into his song I Need You. It worked really well, and he had the crowd singing it back to him. Dave rocked out to all the songs, but the audience especially went nuts for the Depeche Mode tunes. Personal Jesus rocked, then he played Goodbye off his album, and then he left. Encore time! Started with I Feel You, and me screaming my head off. Then came Never Let Me Down Again. This is always the highlight of DM concerts. Everybody in the audience all starts waving their hands and singing their lungs out. Soooo good. The band leaves, and I think "that's it, they always end with NLMDA." But there are the roadies setting up some more instruments. Sure enough out comes Dave and the boys again for a acoustic-ish set of Policy of Truth and my all time, can not be beat ever favourite song Enjoy the Silence. As mentioned before, I'm lame so that made me cry too. Dave hardly sang Enjoy the Silence at all, he just let the crowd do it for him. I am sooooooo super excited and glad that I'm going too see Dave again in Detroit, because this was so amazing. Once was definitely not enough.

So the short version? I loved the show. A lot. And the traffic on the way home? NONE! Yep, our concert let out before the Stones finished up. Heh.
Eye candy so you know what I was looking at all night long:

This is Dave during the shoot for the Dream On video. Isn't he yummy!
Now, we need to get a look at the tattoo's because they are super hot. The one on his back is my favourite...

    Isn't it awesome? One more:

    Sigh.

I have to give my Anita Blake books a bit of a rest. I'm convinced that none of them can compare to the blissful, amazing and wonderful experience of reading Obsidian Butterfly. Instead I'm going to read the chicklit book my friend lent me, and dream about Edward. A lot. I seriously think I might be in love with him. Which is bad and all, considering that he's a fictional character. I did come across a website last night where someone was saying that if they make these books into movies the Kief would be perfect to play Edward. There are more of us out there!!! Can you imagine it? A Kief/Edward movie? It would be the best thing ever!

I'm freaking out about the Dave Gahan concert tomorrow night. First because it's Dave Gahan, and I love him almost as much as I love Edward. But that's the good kind of freak out. The bad kind of freak out comes from the fact that the concert is on the same day as SARSstock or SARSapollooza, or whatever the hell they're calling it today. 500,000 people all flooding into Toronto and Downsview park. Which means that at about the same time I'm trying to head home, so will all those people. The highways are going to be a mess. And I have to work early tomorrow morning (after working late tonight) so that I could even go to the show. Why don't organizers run these things by me before they plan big concerts like this? *kicks organizers*

I won't even get to watch MI-5 tonight, because I'm working until midnight and then working again at 7am tomorrow. So I'll have to avoid blogs until I see it. I can't wait for that show! It's the way spies should be baby!

New layout, Wheeeee! Thanks again SM for making this lovely vision of Kiefer for me.

So taggy had some tags about The Joaquin in eyeliner, and I knew that I had to find a pic of this. So after a lot of serching this is what I came up with:

See, it's subtle eyeliner, but it's there. Oh yes. This is from the movie 8mm, which I haven't seen do to the fact that I hate Nick Cage. But now I might have to suck it up and watch it. I could always fast forward through the Joaquin free scenes.

And here are a few more because I came across so many pretty pictures. This is one with him smoking. Not quite as hot as when The Kief does it, but pretty damn close.

These two are just super pretty:

I am so pissed off. Work forgot to pay me. WTF??? How do they just not pay someone? This is awful! I'm super bitter. Grrrrrr...

Anyway, this was just a short update to bitch, and to plug my new layout (coming soon to a blog near you). SM is putting it together for me, and it's very lovely. I'd also like to thank J-J again for this beautiful Sark layout. I still love it to pieces. It will be back at some point in the future, but I think it's time for a change.

So I looked all over the place last night for a pic of The Joaquin with eyeliner on. And in the process I found a million other super hot pictures. So expect a super hot update either later tonight when I get home from work, or tomorrow morning.

You know how I was really bored at work on Wednesday and Thursday and killed some time by writing really big posts? Well then Friday came along. I was run off my ass yesterday. I didn't have a moment to sit down, or to respond to all the taggers who are trying to give me an eating disorder. My day was so awful that I went home and had a two hour nap (while listening to my lovely pre recorded radio show), a nice relaxing swim, and then I went out with friends from work and danced my ass off at a bar in town. Stayed out until 3am when the club closed, and then we went out for breakfast, where I didn't have anything because I'm now anorexic. (ok, fine, so I had some Banana bread french toast all covered in maple syrup, you all still suck) I didn't end up rolling into bed until about 4:30.

So the exciting news of the day is that we filled out an application for the apartment we wanted. We're just waiting for the credit check, and then we're in! It's on the 7th floor, so there's a cute little balcony, and it's just really pretty. But I'm still immature, and not grown up right? If I start acting mature and responsible feel free to smack me around. Or send over Joaquin to smack me around. And have his way with me. Yeah, that should do it.

The pictures in the last post make me want to watch Quills again really, really badly. I might have to hook that up tonight after work.

Rach and Jenai what are you guys up to on Saturday August 2nd? Did you want to meet up for dinner/drinks before my friend J and I head to see Dave Gahan? SM do you want to come too? I know it's a crazy long way to drive for dinner, but it'd be awesome to see you.

Also, I have to plug SM's new and dare I say prettiest layout ever. It's all about Sark and Jeff Buckley. If you haven't seen it, go and look now.

Listening to: Scanners at work, booooring. Heard some Goldfrapp in the car though.

     So. Very. Bored.

This is not a good thing when you're at work. Bleh...

So since it's been a while, I thought I'd share with all of you a fun story about Creepy Work Guy. Sadly, he is still creepy, and he still works with me. Boo! Hiss!! And lately he's been all bitchy and everyone is mad at him. Which, of course, I love because I hope that all the negitive thoughts sent his way will cause him to leave and go far, far away. That wasn't much of a story was it? I was going to go into specifics, but it would just take waaaay to long to explain it all, so I will just say that he sucks.

Wheeeeeee!!! I just got a call from my friend, and dare I say Future Roomie!!! The landlady at the apartment building that we LOVED called her and told her that they are going to have an apartment available in October, which is when we want to move! We just have to go down and fill out and application! I'm going to be a grown up, hurrah! Someone will have to remind me about how happy this made me when I start bitching about paying rent. I'm fickle and stuff.

Go over to SM's blog and look at the amazing picture of Beck's that is up there. She also mentions a study that was released yesterday that announced the fact that (gasp!) Ice Cream is full of FAT! Dear god, can you believe it? Fat!?!? In Ice Cream!!!! There is also fat in waffles cones too. Sadly, they compared the ice cream fat to the amount of fat in a rack of ribs. In Steph's mind, this translated to "mmmm, ribs and ice cream." Those are two of my favourite foods. Ever. So this survey didn't bother me at all. In fact, I was at DQ today to buy an ice cream cake for my friend's birthday today. And know what? It was send a kid to camp day or something, so there were all these Super Hot Firefighters making sundays. There was one with blond, curly, grabable Sark like hair. He was the hottest of the Super Hot Firefighters. I was telling our assignment editor about it, because obviously this is a hard news story, and we need to cover it, and I need to go get some video of the Super Hot Firefighters. He didn't seem to agree. Men. Humph. So there will be no Super Hot Firefighters on our news tonight. Heh, I just really like saying Super Hot Firefighters.

Did anyone watch Regis and Kelly this morning? I know that it's the most wrong show ever, but Joaquin Phoenix was on and he looked even hotter than the Super Hot Firefighters, which means that he looked really damn hot. And then that reminded me that I had promised to put up some pics of Joaquin in Quills where he plays a Super Hot Priest. So here they are:

    YUM!!!

Listening to: Nothing... again. Damn work. But the last thing I heard before getting in here was Hooverphonic's cover of Depeche Mode's Shake the Disease, so I'm going with that.

The Freak Fest memories keep pouring back. I think I had effectively blocked out the memory of the evil shoes until Rach mentioned it. Mean girl. We got all dressed up, and I decided to throw on my lovely, 3 and a half inch black sandals. All was fine until we decided to walk about 10 blocks from the John Hancock Center to the lovely Irish pub. All the girls asked me if I'd be ok to walk. And because I'm a moron, I said yes. Bwaahahahaha! Dear lord did my feet hurt.

So guess what I've done today at work? First I chatted with a few people about my trip to Chicago. Then I put in a roll of film (half friend wedding, half Freak Fest) in the one hour photo place (MV free, of course). Next, I got a happy meal at McDonalds cause I was hungry. (Shup up!) Then, since I'm working I went out with a reporter and shot pics of graffiti on local buildings. Wheeee. Next up, lunch break since I've been working oh so very hard. So I went to pick up my pictures, which are lovely. SM, there's a really cute one of you. And Rach, there's one of you and your Kenneth Cole bag. Lots of Wedding pics, and my friend looked lovely and blissfully happy. I looked at some buying some fruit salad, but it was almost $5, so I got a peach for $.29 instead. I only had a happy meal before, obviously that isn't enough. I'm a growing girl! SHUT UP!! And now I'm back from my lunch break waiting to go out again. I love my job so much. I'm hoping to get a couple of chapters of Obsidian Butterfly in later this afternoon.

My friend M talked me into martini's last night, (twist my rubber arm) so I haven't watched MI-5 yet. But it's sitting on tape at home waiting for me to watch it on MY NEW TV!! Wheeeeee! And not sarcastic this time. I'm excited about MI-5 because everyone seems to love it, and it has a cute and snarky lead! That's all I need in a tv show. And did I mention that I have a new TV? It is soooooo pretty. It's a 27 inch (YEAH BABY!) JVC, and I love it. My old TV was from 1804. It even had the dial on the side to change between the 8 channels they had back then. It's antique. I'm going to keep it and then one day I'll take it on the Antique Road Show. Good times. So I'm really excited to have volume on the remote control. It's a pain in the ass to have to keep jumping up and down to turn the volume down. I'll stop raving about my TV now. I'm sure that all of you have normal TV's.

Looking at the pictures I had developed today has made me decide that I need a new camera. Because there is no excuse for the crappy pictures my camera takes. So if I'm getting a camera, I might as well get a digital camera. I'm not sure what money I'm buying this with. I might have to wait until I meet my rich sugar daddy. Anyone know of any attractive older men with lots of money? Bonus points if they have heart problems or high blood pressure.

Oooh, I have actual work to do!

Listening to: Nothing... I'm reccing Cat Power today. Look for something off Moon Pix.

I was a bit sad to wake up this morning in my blah old town, and not in Chicago. I miss it already. I'd never been before, and it was such a beautiful city. Plus, John lives there so that makes the stalking a bit easier. It's hard to stalk from Chicago.

Obviously the highlight of the trip was getting to meet all you other freaks. A close second goes to all the hot men. Chicago is full of them! Who knew? Connor the hottie waiter who chatted with us, even though he wasn't our waiter, Michael our yummy Irish doorman, and all the random yummy guys on the street. Especially that blond guy, right Jenai? He was so cute, we both lost all train of thought. I still don't know what we were talking about before we saw him.

So yeah, we ate a lot. Or should I say I ate a lot. I'm sorry, I like food! It can't be helped. Apparently you Americans don't eat the way Canadians do. And I can't believe that you don't have Coffee Crisp chocolate bars. That's just wrong. Oh god, talking about food has reminded me of Chicago Deep Dish Pizza, and I need more of it. That was the best pizza ever. I'm thinking of getting one FedEx'd up. And Rach finally got her Chicago Dog, even if it was on the train back home.

Quote of the weekend goes to Rach:
"What do you mean you don't like hot dogs? How are you an American?"
Me: "I'm not an American." Nice one babe. :)

SM - Sorry we didn't get to properly say goodbye. Stupid train conductors. What's with the city segregation? We should sue. Anyway, I hope the ride wasn't too boring. Since the train was full Rach, Jenai and I didn't get to sit together either. *kicks train guys* And there were some super annoying little kids on the train too. People should sedate their children before 6 hour train rides.

I miss Comedy Central and TNT already. :)

So guess what happened when I went to pick up my car? I'd parked it from about 3pm Friday until Monday at 9:30. It was $.50 a half hour, so I was expecting to pay at least $36 bucks. I pull up to the window and ask the guy if they take credit cards. He says that they don't. This is bad, because I only have $18 on me. So I ask how much it is. His reply?

"That'll be $2.50" This confuses the hell out of me. $2.50??? So I ask?
    "Are you sure that's right?"
"Oh yeah, you get 2 hours free." Yeah, I'm still not getting it until he starts talking about how I arrived at 3:15, and with the 2 hours free, blah blah blah. He thinks that I parked there that afternoon. Not 4 days before. The little angel on my shoulder says "tell him your car's been here since Friday!" But the little devil on the other shoulder got out $3 really quickly, and drove away before I got a chance to tell him his mistake. I'm feeling kinda guilty, but $2.50!!!

And yes Rach, I stopped at Timmy Ho's on the way home, but I avoided the muffins due to the ick factor on Friday. Instead I got a whole wheat bagel with cream cheese, a coffee and a pecan butter tart. Cause I like to eat and all. It was yummy, and made up for the nasty muffin.

More on Chicago later, once the brain has processed it all. And Rach put her pictures up. There's a link at the Freak Fest blog.

Anyone else going to watch MI-5 tonight? A&E's running it at 9pm. Frances recommended this show, in fact she even had a layout a while back featuring it. Only they call it Spooks in England. I don't know why they changed the name for North America. Weird.

Guess what was sitting on my counter last night when I got home? Yep, a pretty package from Amazon. My Coupling and Donnie Darko DVD's arrived in record time. I still can't believe it. I've watched the first 3 eps of Coupling (I'm trying to pace myself) and they were great. Hilarious. I was trying very hard not to laugh too hard since it was 1:30 in the morning and my parents were asleep. There were far too many great lines to quote, so I'll just leave that for tag boards. Thanks again to Pooh and One for making me get this.

Today has been a crazy good day. Guess where I'm sitting right now? In my basement. In the computer room, which has finished, painted walls, carpet, lights and best of all no evil basement guys! Yep, that's right. They aren't gone... they still have to work on the other room, but they won't need to be in this room anymore. Thank god. I was going crazy without my computer time.

So then I opened my email today to find an email from EMI. I don't even remember signing up for that one, but whatever. Because it brought with it the news that the new Dandy Warhols album will be out soon, Doves are putting out a DVD next month and Black Rebel Motorcycle Club will have a new album in September. Wheeeeee! I have bought a CD in about a month, so I'm in dire need of some new music. And a Doves DVD!!!! That has me completely freaking out. And I think they're re-releasing Lost Sides, which I've been looking for since forever. AND the new Elbow album in September. Hurrah!

I have to go and run a million errands, like getting some American money, and trying to find some cute, single hockey players to bring to Freak Fest for Jenai and Pooh. I can't believe it's this weekend!!! Wheeeeeee! I'm sad that more of you couldn't make Freak Fest. We'll have to do it again soon (once our bank accounts recover) and hopefully get more people out.

SM, Gracie, Jenai, Pooh and Rach, I'll see you guys tomorrow!

I finally watched the first episode of Sex and the City Season 6. I'm downloading the second ep right now. I really liked it! I like Burger, I love Charlotte and Harry and Miranda and Steve. The whole thing was great. And I heard there will be some Big action in later eps, and I can't wait for it.

I also succombed to peer pressure and ordered the first season of Coupling. With Pooh and One tagging about it all the time it seemed unavoidable. So hopefully by next week I'll understand what they're talking about. And since you can't go to Amazon and only buy one thing, I ended up getting Donnie Darko as well. I love this movie, and have wanted a copy for a while now. Besides, it was only $12! I'll buy just about anything for $12. In fact I almost bought High Fidelity for $12, until I remembered that I already had it.

This morning as I was waiting for my bagel and orange juice, the woman next to me said "Do you write poetry?" This caused me to look at her funny, and say "No." Then I realized that I was wearing my Idlewild shirt which has "Support Your Local Poet" written across my chest. Sadly, since I'd already told her that I didn't write poetry, I missed my chance to have her financially support me. Moral of the story - Always familiarize yourself with your shirt slogans in case it can make you money.

Tomorrow is a very special day. 24 Day 3 begins filming on Monday. That means more Kief/Guns, and more happy Steph. In honour of this happy occasion:

Just thinking about him firing that gun at Nina gets me all worked up. Here's a few more, just cause he's so very hot:

Hello all! This will have to be a super quick update since I'm at work. The basement guys are still evil. And now different groups of basement guys don't get along. It's funny... the paint guy is all pissed off at the ceramic tile guy, because he kept touching the walls so he'll have to re-do them. The wiring guy is pissed off at the drywall guys because they drywalled over part that hadn't be wired yet. And I'm pissed off at all of them, because they suck, and they are just plain creepy. Yuck! Here's hoping they're gone real soon. Thanks to all the taggers for beating them down.

Freak Fest is in 9 days! Dude, 9 days! I'm super excited.

Everyone is getting into Coupling, and I don't think that I get it. That is sad and depressing, as I'm sure the American version will suck ass, ala Queer as Folk. Although, I did eventually warm to American QaF, but it just wasn't the same. And this season sucked all kinds of ass. I found myself fastforwarding through bits. Never a good sign.

I think that I should apologize for all my bitching about Dark Angel. I rented the first season DVD's last week, and just finished watching them today. I'd forgotten how much I loved that show. And I didn't hate Logan half as much as I remembered. But that's probably because I think he only became a huge ass in Season 2. He did have his annoying moments in S1, but it just didn't seem to get to me. And I didn't want to smack Jessica Alba... until I started listening to the commentary by her and Michael Weatherly for And Jesus Brought a Caserole. She's way more annoying in real life than she ever was as Max. Of course it was Pollo Loco with my beloved Jensen Ackles that was the showstopper. My god I love that man, and if FOX doesn't pick up his pilot in the fall, I will track them down and beat some sense into them.

    Back to work for me!
Listening to: Nothing, but I'm totally reccomending Johnny Hollow. They are amazing! Check out their site, and give them a listen. Try Mary... or Dark Thing.
