I'm not impressed by this new version of blogger. Bah.

I'm also not impressed with the fact that my basement is apparently going to take months to finish. That is not cool.

I watched the Rules of Attraction last night. Once it got over the annoying going backwards part, it was kinda cool. And I didn't hate Dawson at all. He was kinda enjoyable actually. The soundtrack kicked all kinds of ass too. I miss the 80's.

I'm loving the Anita Blake books. I'm really loving Edward and Jean-Claude. I'm hating Richard. A lot. Too bad it wasn't an Edward/Anita/J-C triangle. THAT would be sweet.

As always, I love Keen Eddie and TAR. These shows are making my summer. Well, the shows and the very serious talk about moving out of my parents house and into an apartment with a friend. I need to be more independent. We don't have a place yet, and we don't know when exactly we want to move, but just the thought of it makes me giddy!

Freak Fest is less than three weeks away. I'm really looking forward to it. We're going to have a blast!

Hopefully I'll update soon! Thanks for all the tags. You guys all rock. :)

The lack of regular computer use is killing me. If the evil basement guys don't finish soon, I'm just going to have to kill them.

So here is what I've been up to this week...
I love TAR and Keen Eddie more and more. They are wonderful and fabulous. Was I the only person that thought the stalker on KE looked a bit like Sark? It was the whole young, blond, tousled hair, suit wearing, evil, British thing. For the record, his name is Mark Letheren. He had a small role in the Wire in the Blood miniseries, that's where he first caught my attention. Here are some pictures so you can judge for yourself:

DA is still cuter. And the Sark cap is one of CG's that I found at Dark Enigma.

I also love the Anita Blake series. Thanks so much to everyone that recommended them. I've been ploughing through them in record speed. I know that a while back people were "casting" an Anita Blake movie. I'd like to submit Roy Dupuis for Jean-Claude, and The Kief for Edward. Let's all look at them in all their loveliness:

If you want to look at Roy some more, head over to Rhien's blog. She has a bunch of La Femme Nikita pics up, and RD is looking scrumptious as usual.

It has been a concert ticket week. On Friday I got in line for Tori Amos/Ben Folds tickets. There were only 2 of us in line (I was second) so I got amazing seats. Centre stage, 10 rows back. It kicks all kinds of ass. But I should have realized that I was using up all my good luck. I got up bright and early this morning for Radiohead tickets. The line was quite a bit longer, and there was a random draw to see where the line started. I ended up waaaay at the back of the line. So I got out the trusty cell phone and started calling. And calling. And calling. It was busy. I hate ticketmaster. While I was busy calling, there was some commotion up at the front of the line. It seems that minutes before 10am, the ticketmaster computer crashed. They couldn't get it working again. Once I clue into this, I start panicking. I call my dad and ask if he can get near the computer and get some online. He goes looking, but he can't find three seats together. Or two seats for that matter. Yep, the venue is completely sold out. At this point, the ticketmaster girl informs us that the ticketmaster bigwigs put a bunch of seats on hold for our store since the computer is screwed. We slowing start going through the process of buying these tickets. I end up with three seats on the lawn. I'm hoping it doesn't rain. The guy behind me got the last two tickets for the whole venue, which sucked for him because he wanted four tickets. The official word is that the seats were gone by 10:02, and by 10:05 the entire venue was sold out.

I'm sad to say that I will not be online as much as usual. The evil basement guys have finally repaired all the flood damage on the other side of the basement, so now they're going to start working on this side. The side that has the computer. Considering how long it took them to finish the other side I'm not expecting to have a computer at home for at least two weeks. This is a sad and horrible thing. Thank god for the computers at work. And internet cafe's. So I'll still be around, just not as active.

I'll leave you with this little gem that I read in the Toronto Star gossip column yesterday:
Kiefer Sutherland and Angelina Jolie, who are shooting Taking Lives in Quebec City, had dinner at Café de la Paix, an intimate restaurant near the Chateau Frontenac, on Friday night. A belated birthday party perhaps? Jolie turned 28 on June 4th and left the restaurant armed with roses. Once again, I need to say that a movie with The Kief and AJ will kick all kinds of ass.

Why am I on this computer and not in bed? I'm insane...

Broken Social Scene were awesome, but I don't think my feet will ever forgive me. After a bunch of opening acts that played some very solid sets, BSS hit the stage at 12:25. Dude, 12:25!! Thank god we went late, and didn't show up until after 10. But still, 12:25! I'm too old for this. They made up for coming on stage late by playing a super long set. They finished at 2am. 2!!! Did I mention that I'm too old for this? So after I grabbed a coffee to make sure that I wouldn't fall asleep behind the wheel, I got home at about 3:30. But anyway, the band was awesome, and I'm glad that I went even if I was super tired. Dumb work. If I didn't have to work, I could have slept all day and not been tired.

I don't normally blog about real life boys, because I don't find many of them blog worthy. However, that will have to change for today. I went to the show last night with my friend, her old roommate and a friend of his that I'd never met. We get to the friend's house, and out walks a boy that looks just like Chris Pratt aka Bright from Everwood. You should have seen this boy, he was beautiful. He had this mop of curly blond hair that you just wanted to run your fingers through. I had to concentrate so hard on not staring. He's a couple of years younger than me, but I'm all for cradle robbing in this case.

Because I haven't seen enough concerts this month, I might be going to the Concert for Toronto next week if I can get Saturday off work. Concert for Toronto is an attempt to get back to the city after the SARS scare. Don't get me started on that rant. Anyway, one of the guys I work with has an extra ticket, and I rarely turn down the chance to see a concert. Even if I hate most of the people playing. If I go, I'll be seeing The Tragically Hip, Barenaked Ladies, Sum 41, Our Lady Peace, Avril Why Won't You Shut Up, and the Swollen Members. I'm not sure how I'll be able to make it through the Avril set. Heavy drinking? Heckling? A combination of the two? It's hard to decide.

Chapters finally got Circus of the Damned in, hurrah!

Super fast non spell checked blog to say that Broken Social Scene is tonight! Yay!

I loved TAR last night. I'm going to be non spoilery, so that's all I'm going to say.

One - the Coldplay show was broadcast on The Edge so I'm guess a copy of Lips Like Sugar should be pretty easy to find on the net.

    Back to work for Steph.
Listening to: People typing and chatting, but it's all Broken Social Scene in my head.

Coldplay show was amazing! Just wonderful. I have a total love/hate relationship with Coldplay. I love their music, but I hate some of the stories I hear about the band. The latest (courtesy of Popbitch) is that in Coldplay's dressing room there is a roped off "Chris and Gwenyth" only section. Yuck. Of course there could be no truth to this, but generally when dealing with Hollywood It Girls with British Music King Boyfriends I'm inclined to believe the rumors. They get kinda high on themselves, and I think that A Rush of Blood to the Head is a good album, but it's not nearly as amazing as Parachutes. So I walked into todays concert prepared to be disapointed, and of course they blew me away. They put on an amazing show, although I'm a bit bitter that they didn't play Spies or Shiver, two of my favourites. Even without those songs, it still rocked. There were some amazing moments with 13 thousand fans singing along to Trouble, Everything's Not Lost and the Scientist. I got goosebumps and a little teary eyed when I heard the first few bars of the Scientist. And they started their second encore with a cover of Echo and the Bunnymen's Lips Like Sugar. That was so cool. This was my third time seeing them and they always put on a good show, even if I'm not expecting it. To sum it all up, if you get a chance to go see Coldplay live, go. You won't be disapointed.

The library got the copy of The Last Temptation in! Yay!

     Things about Today that Sucked:
    1. Having to be at work for 6am. That is just mean and evil. No one should be up and around at that time.
    2. Getting no sleep because I kept waking myself up, afraid that I would sleep through my alarm.
    3. Trying to kill an hour after work because I had to pick my mom up, and knew I would crash the second I got home.
    4. The bookstore still not having Circus of the Damned in.
    5. Last Temptation, the third Tony Hill book by Val McDermid isn't available in paper back, and I can't justify spending $35 on the hardcover.
    6. The library not having a single copy of Circus of the Damned, and the copy of Last Temptation was already checked out.

    Things about Today that Rocked:
    1. It's Keen Eddie Day, and Wire in the Blood Day.
    2. The pecan caramel tart I had after work.
    3. The berry lemonade Jones Soda I washed the tart down with.
    4. The 2 hour nap I had after the tart.
    5. Since I was the first person in at work, I got the best gear.
    6. The footage I shot today will most likely make the national news tonight. (Go here for a still frame)
    7. The new Radiohead album Hail to the Theif came out today, and it is brilliant and amazing.

     *kicks stupid computer*
Apparently my computer can only handle certain DVD's. Other DVD's when put in the DVD drive spin around for a moment, and then just sit there. According to the computer there is no disc in the drive. Except there is. So this has killed all my capping plans. Desperately missing my weekly Kief and a gun fix, I rented two movies featuring Kief and Guns. I was going to cap all kinds of pretty shots to share with everyone, except my computer won't read them. And since I'm fairy computer impaired, I can't figure out how to fix it. I called my brother at work, but he hasn't called me back yet. Jerk.

I rented Truth or Consequences, NM (aka Kief with Two Guns) after One highly recomended it. It was awesome. It had some funny lines, The Kief dancing, shirtless Kief, and as mentioned The Kief with two guns. This is all any movie needs to make me happy. I also got Dead Heat (aka The Kief trains for 24 day 2) because I happened to walk by it in Blockbuster. It was also enjoyable, although it needed more nekkidness. But don't let that distract you because in the first 15 minutes we get Kief in black, Kief in black with a gun, Kief in black soaking wet, Kief in a t-shirt and undies drinking and smoking a lot while playing with a gun, Kief getting it on with his estranged wife (here's where the nekkidness should have been, but wasn't) and Kief riding a horse. There was a plot and stuff, but do you really care? I didn't think so. There are some screencaps for Dead Heat that I didn't make here so you can check out some but not nearly enough of the yumminess.

Now here is the good news... I did get a few DVD's to work on my computer, and one of them was 24! Yay! I only watched about the first 5 minutes of the very first episode, but that was more than enough. So here are some lovely pics, enjoy!

The Longwave show last night was awesome! It was only $7 dollars, which was great, and it wasn't very crowded, so we actually got chairs! Which my poor feet loved. And the band hit the stage at 11, not at midnight as I was expecting. So I was home by 1:30. The band was fabulous. I wanted to feed the lead singer cookies because he looked like they weren't feeding him on this tour. He looked like he weighed about 100 pounds soaking wet. But he was cute. When he sang, he screwed his face up kinda like the lead singer of Green Day. He was adorable. The music was really good too! And while in Toronto, I picked up tickets to go see Broken Social Scene next week, which is great because I wasn't sure how we were going to get tickets. Thank god for stores that stay open late! So I'm back into the full swing of the summer concert scene.

Watched The Amazing Race this morning, and it was awesome! Buh Bye Amanda! Man, she sucked. And her boyfriend sucked too. I don't remember disliking him last week, but this week... ugh. So now they are gone, and we won't have to worry about a Flo like win again this year.

I stopped in at Chapters this morning to take advantage of their book sale and get four more Anita Blake books. Guess which one they didn't have in stock? Circus of the Damned. I nearly cried. So after looking longingly at Obsidian Butterfly, a book all about my beloved Edward, I was a good girl and I grabbed the four that came after Circus of the Damned. When I went up to the counter, the girl ringing the sale through started gushing about how much she loved these books. It's universal... She was gushing about Jean-Claude, and some character that I don't think I've met yet, but she used the word "threesome" so whoever she was talking about, I'm looking forward to! She put a hold on Circus of the Damned, so they'll hold a copy for me when it comes in hopefully next week. Yay!

I loved Keen Eddie! Loved it! I loved Mark Valley, I loved Pippin, I loved the smut potential between Mark and the Blonde, I loved that Orbital did the music, I loved that they used New Order's Crystal not once, but twice! I just loved it. Is anyone else temped to go get a big map of their town and start putting matchbooks all over it? Only without the matches still in them, because as we've seen that can be quite the fire hazard. I kept catching myself starring at Mark and thinking "my god he's beautiful." Because, dude, he was hot! Smokin hot! It's now obvious to me that Tuesdays at 9 on FOX is the hot man timeslot. I am seriously loving FOX right now, and that is very rare.

A fun music quiz stolen from Rach.

What song reminds you of your father? Of your mother?
Anything by Bruce Springsteen or Van Morrison reminds me of Dad. He's a huge fan of both of them. For my Mom it's anything by Elvis.

What song reminds you of your sibling(s)?
TuPac and other rap that I don't recognise reminds me of my younger brother. Nothing funnier than watching a bunch of skinny, middle class white kids trying to breakdance. I've never wished for a videocamera so bad. New Orleans is Sinking by The Tragically Hip reminds me of my older brother.

What song reminds you of elementary school?
Kokamo by the Beach Boys. When I was in grade three we did a dance to it in front of the whole school. We were too young to be embarrassed.

What song reminds you of junior high?
Jump Around - House of Pain. This was the grade 7 dance song. You know, where you'd go to dances, but the boys would stand on one side, and the girls on the other until Jump Around came on, and then everybody just hit the floor.

What song reminds you of high school?
A lot! #1 Crush - Garbage, Supersonic and Wonderwall - Oasis, a bunch of Sarah McLachlan songs, Discothque - U2, Big Bang Baby - STP, and a million others.

What song reminds you of college? (or the years just after high school?)
Anything from Coldplay's Parachutes, Mambo #5 - Lou Bega (which I hope to never, ever hear ever again),

What song reminds you of the happiest time of your life?
Bohemian Like You - The Dandy Warhols, Tainted Love - Soft Cell, Supersonic - Oasis, Enjoy the Silence and Never Let Me Down Again - Depeche Mode.

What song reminds you of the hardest time of your life?
Amazing Grace, Exit Music For A Film - Radiohead

What song makes you laugh every time you hear it?
United States of Whatever - Liam Lynch

What song makes you cry every time you hear it?
Not every time, but I have cried while listening to: Powder Blue - Elbow, Sail Away - David Gray, Just Another - Pete Yorn, As You Are - Travis

Imagine a time capsule, to be opened in two hundred years. You have to put five albums into the capsule – not necessarily your favorites, but the ones that will say the most about your life thus far. What five do you choose?
    Depeche Mode - Violator
    U2 - Achtung Baby
    Coldplay - Parachutes
    Doves - Lost Souls
    Travis - The Man Who
    Radiohead - OK Computer
Tori Amos - Under the Pink
    Garbage - Version 2.0
Elbow - Asleep in the Back
I know that's more than five, but it can't be helped.

Go to This Day In Music, plug in your 16th birthday, and find out what song was #1 on the US chart that week. (Or, the UK chart, if you're in Europe) If you recognize the song, what memories does it evoke?
One Sweet Day by Mariah Carey with Boyz II Men... oh, this evokes all kinds of memories, like wanting to strangle Mariah Carey, or throwing up, or uttering "if I hear that song one more time..." (For the record, the UK #1 was Spaceman by Babylon Zoo which I always thought was a weird song.)

Do the same for your 21st birthday, if you've passed it.
Stutter by Joe feat: Mystikal - Ewwwww! My god, how was this ever a number one song? Yuck. So I'm going with the UK one, because most of the music I listen to is from the UK anyway. The UK #1 was Whole Again by Atomic Kitten. This song pretty much sucks too, but was saved by a Trory video that Trix and Pooh dug up a while back.

What CD are you currently listening to, or did you last listen to? Is it from a genre you listened to as a teenager? (If you're still a teenager, would you have listened to it three, four years ago?)
Dave Gahan's Paper Monsters. I guess that would be pop/rock/alternative, so yep that's what I was into as a teenager.

What CD in your collection would your teenage/younger self laugh at? (Boy bands and sparkly girls don't count – most of my friends list could say that!)
I think my teenage self would be pretty happy with my collection. I'm only 23. I bought a good chunk of my cd collection as a teenager.

What CD/artist did you love when you were younger that you now cringe at?
Oh, god... the list could go on forever! Vanilla Ice - Ice Ice Baby, MC Hammer - Please Hammer Don't Hurt Em, Paula AbTool - Forever Your Girl, I'm sure you get the picture.

If you could buy everyone on your friends list one CD, what would it be and why?
Oh, that's so hard! I'm always recommending CD's, and for the most part people ignore me. I guess Depeche Mode's Violator, because I don't know how anyone could not love that album to pieces.

Bonus question: what band most deserves a tribute album? What current artists should cover their songs?
Here's where I'd normally say Depeche Mode, but they already have a tribute album with a few half decent covers. So instead I'll say Travis because they write some beautiful, amazing songs. I'd love to hear David Gray give some of their stuff a try, and Tori Amos because she does the best covers ever.

     It's Keen Eddie Day!!! Hurrah!

Yesterday I got tickets to go see Dave Gahan. In Toronto and Detroit. They were pretty expensive, but it will be totally worth it! Yay concerts!

Edited to add that I saw a preview for The O.C. which looks all kinds of lame, except for the fact that Dave from GG is in it, and he looks totally adorable. So I'll probably end up watching that too...

I finished The Laughing Corpse. In less than 24 hours. I know that I read fast, but I think that's a personal record even for me. I'll have to head out tomorrow and buy the rest of the series. I have so many questions now! I won't go into details since I know that SM has the books on order, but wow! Just wow. Damn Chapters for not being open 24 hours a day. I'd seriously go out and buy the rest right now. Oh, and someone should have told me that The Laughing Corpse was Edwardless. I kinda feel like I've been stood up. All that waiting, and he never appears. I'll just have to scroll down and stare at The Kief again to make me feel better.

I stayed up until 5 am last night/this morning. Why on earth would I do such a thing? Because I was madly reading Guilty Pleasures. I finished it at about 2:30 in the morning. At that point most normal people would go to bed. Not me! I just grabbed The Laughing Corpse and went right on reading. By the time I finally put the book down and decided to get some sleep I could hear birds chirping outside, and the sun was starting to come up. Damn addictive books. I know I'm going to end up at Chapters some time this week and buy the next four books in the series. I have to take advantage of the sale! I really should pace myself though, I don't want to go into withdrawal once I've read them all.

I hope everyone is having an awesome weekend. I have today off! Wheeeeeee! And Dave Gahan tickets go onsale tomorrow! Day off + Good Books + Great Concerts = Happy Steph.

In case I don't update between now and Tuesday everyone remember to watch Keen Eddie! 9pm Tuesday night on FOX.

And finally, just cause he's so damn beautiful:
